Unlike the other bicycle manufacturers; BSA, which stood for Birmingham Small Arms, started out making guns for the British forces during the Crimean War. After the war, they turned to motorcycles. At one time they were the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles. They were also dubbed as “The world’s most popular motorcycle”. This became more evident to the non-motorcycle public in the famous George Michael MTV video “Faith” where he wore a custom BSA leather jacket. They were also made famous by some of the greatest racers of all time including Dick Mann, John Surtees, Dave Aldana and Rob North. Also know as Beezer or Beeza.
